The war is over;
Nylon stocking production is resumed and tries to meet and satisfy an ever increasing
demand. Macy's, New York : fifty thousand pairs sold in six hours.
Nylon soars ahead of silk and rayon which are out-classed by the extreme
sheerness and Crystal transparency of the Nylon stocking. The way it molds itself to the
leg is unique and the effect dazzling.
Pin-ups and stars alike just can't do without; they are
an absolute fashion must. The 70-45 denier stockings of VE-Day are quickly surpassed by
the 30-20 denier stockings and before 1950 the 15 denier stocking called CRYSTAL is born.
Eventually the 10 and then the 7 denier appear in the early fifties. |
1945 - 1955 |
The full-fashioned seamed stocking reigns as master overall; no
woman dares oppose its supremacy. |

The seamless stocking slowly replaces the fully-fashioned stocking. |

Seamless stocking lose more and more ground to pantyhose. |
